I woke up with my mind racing this morning. The list of thoughts consuming my mind was pages and pages long. The more I thought the more unsettled I became. Then I did a really stupid thing, I scrolled. My facebook feed was toxic, with more angst and yuck.
“God” I prayed out loud, “I’m struggling today. I feel fear and anxiety. I need you. I need to hear a word of encouragement from you today!” As I sat there in my study, in the stillness I was reminded of four words in Scripture, “He will keep you.” So I searched the phrase and a verse from Jude was my top hit.
“Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.”
Jude 1:24 NLT
“Ok, cool” i thought. As I sat there surrounded by my books, my eye caught a daily devotional that I obviously had not looked at since November 23rd of last year because that’s where the bookmark was. I read the devotional for today and then the recommended verses that coincided. Guess what verse was ther? The same verse that I had just searched and considered.
Now I may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but I can recognize when God is trying to tell me something. And today, He wants tell me that He will keep me. I think that’s a good reminder for all of us.
Regardless of what’s happening around you. He will keep you. He will keep you from stumbling. He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is on Him. He will keep you safely in the embrace of His arms.
He will keep you.
