By now news has spread far and wide of tragic event that took place in our city of Chattanooga today. As a community we have been shaken, and tonight we are asking questions and answers just don’t seem to be coming fast enough. All around our city tonight people will be gathering for a time of prayer asking God to comfort, protect and heal our hearts as we mourn the murder of four United States Marines by a gunman.
Prayer gatherings will be at a number of churches, and I am encouraging anyone who is able to join their voice with ours as we cry out to God for our city.
At 7pm tonight my family and friends that will be gathering at our house will stop what we are doing and will spend some time praying together for our city. I would like to ask you to do the same. Whether you are a RiverChurch family member, a fellow Chattanoogan, a friend living somewhere else, would you stop at 7pm tonight or at your corresponding time zone?
Let us pray for the city of Chattanooga, as well as our nation as yet again we must deal with the pain of violence that has unfolded upon our streets.
