Chattanooga is blessed with some of the most generous people in the world. Chattanoogans are known to be some of the most charitable people in the country. My friend, Pastor Barry Kidwell, is certainly in that crowd. Barry has been working with the homeless community in Chattanooga for over 20 years. Every Sunday Night you’ll find him at First Centenary United Methodist Church sharing the Gospel and a warm meal with “campers.” You’ll find him in Miller Park on Wednesday’s offering lunch, and then at First Baptist on Thursday nights doing the same thing.
Pastor Barry runs Mustard Tree Ministries, and Cadence Coffee is honored to partner with Mustard Tree on a regular basis. One of the new ways we are about to partner with Mustard Tree is by helping them add another day of offering food to the homeless community. This coming Friday, we will set aside 10% of our sales for the day, to go to Mustard Tree Ministries. Our hope is to help fund a Friday lunch at Miller Park on a weekly basis. We’re actually designating every 3rd Friday of 2017 for this purpose.
Here’s how you can help:
- Stop by Cadence and buy a cup of coffee. Ten percent of what you buy will go to Mustard Tree.
- Sign up to serve. They need more manpower to help more people. We’ll give you a way to connect with Mustard Tree so you can volunteer in serving.
- Spread the Word. Share this post and let others know that they can help too.
This is just one more way to share one more meal with those less fortunate in our city.
