B E H I N D / T H E / B A R

So a week ago I was riding in the car with a buddy of mine and he said, “You gotta hear this song.”  Where have I been?  Why haven’t I heard it until now.  I downloaded it, and for the last 7 days its been the soundtrack of my day.  Its really more than a song.  Its a prayer.  Its becoming my prayer.

I walk to work everyday, and I have this 20 minute time to talk to God, out loud, on the streets of my city.  I pray for my family as I walk down my street.  I pray over my kids  as I walk past their school.  I pray for the businesses of friends I’ve made down town as I pass them by. I pray for our business.  I pray for our church. I put my hands on the wall of the empty building across the street that I pray that God will use  it one day for His glory.

This song encapsulates, in a simple sentence, my prayer over all of these areas: Build Your Kingdom Here.  I believe He’s answering.

The video is fun. But don’t be so distracted by the video to miss the message of the song.  The song is driving like a locomotive.  Its a great one to walk and pray to. Gets your heart rate up.  But more importantly it calls to something deep inside of me to see His Kingdom come here to Chattanooga.
